These bends are used in pairs to form a swan neck on the downpipe. Set at a standard 112 degree the two combined bring the pipe back to the correct vertical position. The picture shows two offset bends in the correct position to avoid leaks. If a longer swan neck is required then pipe cut to the correct length can be added between the two offsets.
