Two layers make this sheet perfect for replacing old roof sheets or any roof where heat loss is not a factor. Twin-wall opal panels are an ideal material for use on roofs to provide cool shade or where reduced UV light is required. These sheets are suitable for forming patio roofs, pergolas, carports, above Koi fish ponds, aviaries, and more.

Being white, these sheets do reduce the light transmission, but the gain in heat reduction more than compensates. These sheets are easily installed with glazing bars to go onto timber joists. Impact resistance is a great safety feature protecting objects above. The reduced heat and low cost of these sheets are popular reasons why many gardeners opt for them to grow house roof material.

10mm Opal sheets have both advantages and disadvantages. At 10mm thick, this sheet is only suitable for open-sided structures, being opal; the sheet is quite white, which will reduce the amount of light that passes through the sheet. This will also reduce the heat that passes through the sheet, allowing opal sheets to provide a cooler shade. Also, the colour visibility through the sheets is almost zero. This has the advantage of hiding dirt that builds up on the sheets.
