All roofs catch the sun at midday during the summer months. For roofs that face North, the extra heat is a benefit most of the year, but for roofs that face South, the sun can stay on the top during the afternoon, which causes heat build-up in the room below. This heat can become intense, causing damage to floors, furniture and items exposed to the heat. Heatguard polycarbonate can reduce this heat build-up by 50%. It is very effective.

Designed to reduce solar heat build-up, these sheets can reduce the impact of the summer sun by reducing heat build-up by 50%. Designed to be two-toned, the inner side of the sheets is white, and the outer side is a silver grey which works well with RAL 7016 roof bars. These sheets, at 25mm thick, are best installed with structural glazing bars, but they can also be used with timber roof joists.
