We have solar control sheets for south-facing garden roofs to reduce heat build-up. Solar sheets reduce heat like a solid roof system and allow natural light to come in, preventing other rooms in your home from becoming dark. For standard roof projections, the dimensions below are the actual coverage of the external projection for each bar length. Dimensions change according to the pitch of the roof.

FAQ's

Can I use self-supporting glazing bars for glass roofs? Our roof system is manufactured using different strength bars, which can be used to take glass double-glazed roof panels.

Can I replace my polycarbonate with glass? Usually, the existing roof bars will also need to be replaced. The glass is much heavier, and the bars need to be stronger.

Conservatory roof glass or polycarb? Glass is quieter. It reduces noise when it rains; glass also has a high solar gain, so it can be beneficial in north-facing or shady areas. The disadvantage of glass on south-facing gardens is that the heat build-up inside the conservatory has more options. Both opal and heat guards can dramatically reduce heat during the summer months. A heat guard is a perfect choice for a south-facing garden.  

How long does a roof last? There is very little to go wrong with the roofs. The materials are all guaranteed for at least ten years, but when appropriately fitted and maintained with occasional cleaning, a lifespan of twenty to forty years is possible.  

What is the best option for a conservatory roof? Lean-to-roof kits with heat guard conservatory roof sheets can reduce the heat in the summer by 85%. There is a loss of light, but it's worth it for the shade in summer. Opal sheets are cheaper and are the preferred choice for most installation companies.
